Natanya Ruth Silverman
Owner, Founder, Yoga + Meditation (E-RYT 200 HR), Barre Fitness, Transformation Coach, Reiki Master, Breathwork Facilitator
A lifelong Yoga practicioner, Natanya’s first Yoga teacher was her grandmother
(her “Oma”) who taught her pranayama and Yoga in her parents’ living room when she was 6 years old. Inspired by her grandmother’s yogic lifestyle and philosophy, Natanya, an actor and director who trained in Paris, Poland, India, & Northern California, created, produced and performed hOMAge, a play inspired by her grandmother’s writings. Before producing the show for festivals in New York City, Natanya felt compelled to become a Yoga instructor, to better tell her grandmother’s story, and to train her actors. In 2013, Natanya received her Yoga & Meditation Teaching Certification through Blooming Lotus Yoga in Thailand, and has since taught Yoga & Meditation & offered Reiki healing in Thailand, Bali, Jamaica, The Dominican Republic & New York City. Studio in Buzzards Bay, MA, Ms. Silverman not only teaches Yoga, Meditation, Pranayama, (Mantras (Sanskrit Chants), and Ayurveda (Yogic Diet & Lifestyle), but also facilitates theater workshops, infusing the theater creation process with yogic principles of mindfulness, moving with the breath, and flexibility, as well as exercises that connect participants in a safe space of creative, heart-centered expression. In December 2017, Ms. Silverman was honored to participate in a 2-week silent Meditation retreat with Guru Amma Sri Karunamayi in Andhra Pradesh, India. A Reiki Master & Meditation Instructor, Ms. Silverman believes in Yoga, Meditation & Reiki as dynamic offerings for purifying, healing, and connecting with your true divine nature; your CREATIVE Force. Jodi was introduced to yoga about 11 years ago and immediately fell in love with it. She has always led and active athletic lifestyle riding horses and earning a degree in horsemanship and later raising 2 sons. She received her 200 hr YTT from Michelle Fleming of Sanctuary Studios this past spring along with her Traditional Thai Massage Level 1 certification. She has developed a wonderful practice that can be geared towards any fitness level.
Dr. Carl Swanson
Ed.D., E-RYT 200 HR, YACEP
Dr. Carl Swanson (Ed.D., E-RYT200, YACEP) is a natural born teacher. He was a public school teacher for over 35 years, retiring in 2014. He also taught music at Northeastern University for 16 years. When he retired he realized he still needed to teach, so he turned his newfound love of yoga into his next teaching passion. He completed his yoga teacher training in 2016 at the Maha Yoga Center in Bridgewater. Since then he has taught in several local studios and at the Bridgewater Senior Center. Recently, he completed his E-RYT200 and YACEP certifications. He offers classes in Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Chair Yoga, Yoga Nidra, and Children’s Yoga, as well as Yoga Teacher Training and YACEP courses. For Carl, yoga is all about the journey to samadhi, the state of intense concentration achieved through meditation and yoga.

Julia cultivated her personal yoga practice in 2015 while recovering from a mental illness. Her practice has deep roots in the spirituality, philosophy, and mind-body connection of yoga. The physical asana, mindfulness meditation, and the eight-limb path have helped Julia discover growth, healing, and inner happiness. She enjoys music, writing, spending time in nature, and expanding her knowledge in the realms of yoga and holistic health.
Julia’s classes will aid you in embodying your personal power, to discover and thrive in your own natural rhythm of being. Her classes will revive your spirit, while placing emphasis on honoring kindness towards your practice and yourself. This gentle awareness practiced on the mat will translate to light and growth off the mat, in everyday living.
Kristin Monty is an experienced and certified Barre Fitness instructor from Wareham, Massachusetts. She is deeply passionate about helping her students reach their goals while having fun doing so. Since 2017, she has been the lead instructor of an upbeat Barre Fitness class at Westfield State University. And she’s very excited to bring that same energy and enthusiasm to The Clearing. She currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from Westfield State University and works as an HR Specialist. Barre Fitness uses various exercise techniques from yoga, pilates, ballet, and dance to create a unique workout experience. The versatility of Barre is why it typically appeals to people of all backgrounds and skill levels. Kristin’s classes will leave you feeling both excited and energized!
Doug Savage is a certified Laughter Yoga Leader who discovered Laughter Yoga over 5 years ago, and became certified in 2018 and 2019. He loves to share movement, laughter, and breath to invite everyone to discover their childlike sense of wonder and silliness, and experience clarity, ease and joy!
From childhood to adulthood, Emily suffered from traumatic history and battled with mental illness. Taking her struggles with stride, Emily put herself in college and explored working with different populations in direct care/ PCA work. Working with those with mental illness, addiction, autism and other intellectual disabilities, over time, Emily discovered the gift and passion of the human services field in a more holistic healing approach. Considering herself a wounded healer and yogi at heart, currently a mom of a 4 month old baby girl, Emily holds a support group for those with traumatic history as well as a baby and mother's gentle stretch class with beginners reiki* Emily currently holds a Human services Certification from Cape Cod Community College , is an Usui Reiki Master, carries her basics in Shamanic Studies and lastley her Culinary arts certification. While continuing to study TIMBo; trauma informed yoga, Emily also bakes for those who love wholesome homeade food.Grab a bag of energy bars, balls or cookies after class made homeade by Emily and sign up for one of her classes. Medi Thomas had been aware of yoga throughout her life, however, the deeper connection and practice did not begin until 2017, when she started taking classes at The Clearing Yoga studio in Buzzards Bay MA. With regular practice and devotion, Medi began noticing a shift in her physical, mental and spiritual state. The practice of yoga keeps transforming her life, translating into all aspects of it, creating a sense of balance, strength, connection to inner self and knowing, deep stillness and compassion.
Medi completed GIFT 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Natanya Ruth Silverman at The Clearing Yoga School. She is currently enrolled in Level I Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training at The Baba Siri Chand Yoga and Retreat Center in Millis MA.

Erika first discovered the power of yoga in 2012 when a friend dragged her along to what she called a “life changing experience”. Since then she was hooked and constantly curious to find out more about the amazing benefits yoga can bring not only physically, but also mentally and spiritually. She always knew she would one day become an instructor, in order to share the love and light, but timing was never right. In the fall of 2018, after many adventures to find herself as a mother and an artist, Erika graduated from SNHU, decided that it was the perfect time to commit herself to a lifelong Yoga Journey and is now a 200hr certified yoga teacher. Her teaching journey started at Core Power Yoga in Boston where she defined her practice by teaching yoga and bringing light to those seeking to re-establish their yoga practice or take yoga for the first time. She believes in the powerful transformation of the mind, body and soul through a deeply rooted yoga practice, good music and by altering the mindset to conquer all of the beauty life’s got to give.

As a high school student, Marcy was certified and taught group fitness and nutrition. Throughout college and her professional career, Marcy continued to initiate and lead group fitness instruction. Following a serious car accident, she wore a rigid back brace for eight years, then began practicing Pilates to rehabilitate her spine, and strengthen her entire body.
Once Marcy moved to Cape Cod, she trained and was certified in Traditional Pilates by Master Instructor, Sabrina Vaz, who trained in NYC with Joseph Pilates lineage teachers, so Marcy continues that original lineage from Joe. In addition, she has trained in progressive Pilates, through Balanced Body Pilates. Since 2006, Marcy has been certified and teaching Pilates to individuals and classes. Marcy also has two certifications in Barre, one in Water in Motion, and has been certified in CPR and First Aid. It gives Marcy great joy to share her love of movement with others. Even those of us with some physical limitations can Keep Moving!!
